Directions & For Use

  • Always take ACITROM exactly as you have been instructed by your doctor to
  • ACITROM should be given as a single dose every day at the same time. With a drink of water, swallow your tablets whole with
  • By doing daily blood tests during treatment with ACITROM, your doctor will decide on your dosage.
  • When taking ACITROM, you should not receive any injections into your muscles.

Side Effects

  • With the Acitrom tablet, bleeding is the most common side effect. It depends, however, on the medicine's dose, the age of the patient and the underlying illness (but not the duration of treatment).
  • The gut, stomach, bowel, liver, eye, urinary tract, and brain are the most common sites of bleeding. If you have issues with bleeding, call your doctor.

Warning & Precaution

Before taking ACITROM, speak to your doctor if:             

  • Allergic to acenocoumarol or some other pharmaceutical product (hypersensitive)
  • For example, having some mental disorder, schizophrenia or dementia,
  • Have or have had surgery on your spine, brain, eyes or other big operation
  • The brain has had a stroke caused by bleeding.
  • Suffering from very high blood pressure
  • Having a stomach ulcer or any bleeding from the intestines
