What is Acitrom 4 Tablet?

Acitrom 4 Tablet is an oral anticoagulant which helps to prevent formation of harmful blood clots in the legs, lungs, brain and heart. Close monitoring of INR and prothrombin time is necessary during treatment with this medicine.

What are the uses of Acitrom 4 Tablet?

Acitrom 4 Tablet is used for treating,

  • Treatment and prevention of Blood clots

How to Use Acitrom 4 Tablet

  • Always take this Acitrom 4 Tablet exactly as your doctor has told you.
  • Never crush or chew this medicine.
  • Treatment can be started with a loading dose regimen, usually 6 mg on the first day followed by 4 mg on the second day.
  • You should not receive any injections into your muscles whilst you are taking Acitrom.

If you forget to take Acitrom 4 Tablet

  • If you forget to take a dose of Acitrom 4 Tablet, just take your next scheduled dose at the correct time.
  • Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten tablet.

If you take more Acitrom 4 Tablet

  • Do not take a double dose. If you take more, then contact your doctor or nearest hospital for advice.

If you stop taking Acitrom 4 Tablet

  • Until your doctor advises you to do so, do not stop taking Acitrom 4 Tablet. Contact your doctor before stopping.

Warning & Precautions of Acitrom 4 Tablet?

Talk to your doctor if you:

  • Are allergic to Acitrom 4 Tablet or to any of its ingredients
  • Have had a stroke caused by bleeding into your brain
  • Suffer from very high blood pressure
  • Have a stomach ulcer or any intestinal bleeding
  • Pass blood in your water or cough up blood
  • Suffer from any bleeding disorders, bleeding problems or unexplained bruising
  • Have pericarditis or endocarditis.
  • Have severe liver or kidney disease
  • Have cancer
  • Have an infection or inflammation (swelling)

What are the side effects of Acitrom 4 Tablet?

  • Vomiting
  • Nausea
  • Abdominal pain
  • Diarrhea

More Information :

  • Keep Acitrom 4 Tablet out of the reach of kids.
  • Store at room temperature (15-25ºC).
  • Do not take Acitrom 4 Tablet after the expiry date.
  • Take it 1 hour before or two hours after food.
  • Do not consume alcohol while taking Acitrom 4 Tablet as this may increase its side effects.
  • Take Acitrom 4 Tablet in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor.
