Amnac Opthalmic Suspension is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and analgesic prodrug. After instillation, it penetrates the cornea and is converted by ocular tissue hydrolases to amfenac, a nonsteroidal anti- inflammatory drug. Amfenac inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandins in the iris, ciliary body, and conjunctiva and thus, prevent ocular inflammation and reduce pain.

What is Amnac Opthalmic Suspension?

Amnac Opthalmic Suspension is contains Nepafenac which belongs to a group of medicines known as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).  It is used to prevent and relieve eye pain and inflammation and reduces the risk of macular oedema following cataract surgery on the eye in diabetic patients.

What are the uses Amnac Opthalmic Suspension?

Amnac Opthalmic Suspension is used for treating,

  • Treat pain and inflammation associated with cataract surgery
  • Reduces risk of macular oedema following cataract surgery

How to Use Amnac Opthalmic Suspension?

  • Normally take Amnac Opthalmic Suspension exactly as your doctor has told you.
  • Do not crush or chew the tablet.

If you forget to take Amnac Opthalmic Suspension

  • Take your Amnac Opthalmic Suspension at the next scheduled time if you miss a dose and it is close to the next scheduled dose.
  • Do not take a double dose to make up for the one you missed.

If you take more Amnac Opthalmic Suspension

  • Contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital if you are taking more than the recommended Suspension.
  • These effects usually wear off in a few hours.

If you stop taking Amnac Opthalmic Suspension

  • Until your doctor advises you to do so, do not stop taking this Suspension.
