Amtop 25mg Tablet is contains Amitriptyline, a tricyclic antidepressant. It has anticholinergic and sedative properties. It prevents the reuptake, and hence the inactivation of neurotransmitters called noradrenaline and serotonin, that are present at the nerve terminals in our brain. Reuptake prevention of these monoamine neurotransmitters potentiate their action in the brain.

How to Use Amtop 25mg Tablet?

  • Normally take Amtop 25mg Tablet exactly as your doctor has told you.
  • Do not crush or chew the tablet.
  • It may cause diarrhea, gas or an upset stomach.
  • Put it in your mouth but do not swallow it.
  • Do not handle the tablets with wet hands.

If you forget to take Amtop 25mg Tablet

  • Take your Amtop 25mg Tablet at the next scheduled time if you miss a dose and it is close to the next scheduled dose.
  • Do not take a double dose to make up for the one you missed.

If you take more Amtop 25mg Tablet

  • Contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital if you are taking more than the recommended tablet.
  • These effects usually wear off in a few hours.

If you stop taking Amtop 25mg Tablet

  • Until your doctor advises you to do so, do not stop taking this medicine.
